He assisted her with daily activities, particularly during her long period of illness before her passing. The loss of his grandmother occurred just two days before his college debut game, a decision made by his family not to inform him at the time. Though he understood their choice, the loss deeply impacted him.

Despite going undrafted in 2023, he eventually secured a place with the Giants.
