Singer Inetimi Alfred Timaya Odon, known as Timaya, has expressed his reluctance to date a Nigerian girl, despite having three Nigerian baby mamas.
He mentioned that if he were a Nigerian girl, he wouldn’t consider dating a Nigerian man.
Timaya clarified that his preference does not stem from a problem with Nigerian men or women, but he currently wouldn’t choose to date a Nigerian lady.
During a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, Timaya stated: “If I am a Nigerian girl, I will not date a Nigerian man. Myself right now, I can’t date a Nigerian girl. My current lover is not Nigerian.”
He explained, “I can’t date a Nigerian lady because we have the same foundation; the same upbringing. The relationship would be like police and thief. The relationship would be too toxic. We’d lie to each other too much. We wouldn’t even have peace.”
