Three Suspected Cultists Arrested on Revenge Mission in Delta, Arms Recovered

In the Warri area of Delta State, operatives of the Delta State Police Command have apprehended three suspected cultists.

During a stop and search duty along Pessu corner in Warri, police operatives attached to Quick response squad (QRS) intercepted a tricycle with three occupants. Upon searching them, a locally made cut-to-size gun and four live cartridges were found in their possession.

The suspects, identified as Chukwuma Owoh, Ediri Ogendengbe, and Alfred Kess, were arrested by the Policemen. Chukwuma Owoh confessed that he purchased the gun from one Haruna of Hausa market Warri and stated that they were on a revenge mission against some Aiye confraternity cult members who had attacked his younger sister.

According to the statement by the spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, one locally made gun and four rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

“The suspects are currently in custody and investigation is ongoing,” the statement read.

CP Ari Muhammed Ali, the Commissioner of Police in the state, has encouraged officers and men of the Command to continue their fight against crime and criminality in the state. He also emphasized the importance of politeness and civility towards members of the public while on duty, stating that incivility will not be tolerated under his watch.
