Three Ansaru Members Apprehended in Kaduna

Following an ongoing mop-up operation in Kuduru Forest, the Nigerian Police has successfully apprehended three individuals linked to the Ansaru Terror Group in Kaduna State.

The captured suspects have been identified as Munkailu Liman Isah a.k.a Babban Driver’m’ aged 32, Abdullahi Saminu a.k.a Danmunafiki ‘m’ aged 21, and Aminu Usman.

The Kaduna Police Command has confirmed that the detained Ansaru members are cooperating in providing information regarding the group’s members, criminal/operational records, logistics, and overall modus operandi.

The police released the following statement:

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the arrested suspects were actively involved in the recent attack and attempted kidnap of the Emir of Potiskum, which led to the tragic killing of the Emir’s police escorts. They were also implicated in various other kidnapping operations and terror attacks targeting travelers and other innocent citizens along major highways, particularly in the North-West and North Central States of the country.

“Unfortunately, the investigation also indicates that some citizens, especially those within the business community, provide indirect support to the terror groups by engaging in business dealings with them, including the supply of essential goods, drugs (licit/illicit), and other services. In light of this, the IGP calls for patriotism among the people, emphasizing that this is the only way to truly triumph over the criminal elements.”
