The upcoming journey of Vice President Kashim Shettima to the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in America

Tonight, Vice President Kashim Shettima will be leaving Abuja, heading for Dallas, USA to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit by the Corporate Council on Africa.

A press release by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, confirmed on Sunday that Shettima will be part of a gathering of political and business figures from Africa, the United States, and beyond. The summit, which will include high-level discussions, networking opportunities, and a plenary session, is set to take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

Among the African presidents expected to attend the summit are Joseph Boakai from Liberia, Lazarus Chakwera from Malawi, Joao Lourenço from Angola, Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi from Botswana, and José Maria Neves from Cape Verde. Nthomeng Majara, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, is also anticipated to participate.

In addition to the plenary session, Shettima will address the Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment, focusing on impact and returns. He is scheduled to join a high-level panel discussion on agribusiness, highlighting the transition from food insecurity to the development of thriving agribusinesses.

Furthermore, the Vice President will deliver insights during a plenary session on Navigating Africa’s Energy Future and will lead a session dedicated to advancing the Invest in Nigeria campaign.

He will also engage in various other meetings and activities on the sidelines of the summit.
