The Title: Jordan Henderson Wins England’s Player of the Year Award for 2019, Beating Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane

2019 saw Jordan Henderson clinching England’s player of the year award, triumphing over Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane, his fellow teammates.

The Liverpool team captain’s achievements with his club were illustrious as they secured the Champions League title last season and narrowly missed out on winning the Premier League, finishing second behind Manchester City.

This season, Henderson’s victories include the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup with Liverpool, who currently lead by 14 points with a game in hand.

29-year-old Henderson, acclaimed as one of the top three midfielders in Europe last season, played a total of seven matches for England in 2019. He played a pivotal role in midfield as they reached the semi-finals of the Nations League and secured qualification for Euro 2020.
