The Senate Requests Ndume to Relocate from Chief Whip’s Office

Sen. Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South in the National Assembly, has declined the new office assigned to him by the Senate Services Committee.

As per parliamentary norms, Ndume is required to transfer to a different office following his removal as the Senate Whip.

NewsNow has learned that Ndume was instructed to leave his current office and relocate to the third floor to make way for the new Chief Whip, Sen. Tahiir  Mongonu, to assume the office.

In response to being assigned a new office on the third floor, Ndume wrote a letter to Sen. Sunday Karimi, the Chairman of the Senate Services Committee, on Tuesday, expressing that the office he was given does not match his seniority and high-ranking position in the Senate.

The letter, signed by his Chief Confidential Secretary, Shuaibu Gawu, stated,  “I am directed to inform you that Sen. Mohammed All Ndume has rejected the allocation of office Number 3.10 by the committee. This is because offices are traditionally allocated based on seniority. Sen. Ndume is the second-most senior senator after Sen. Ahmad Lawan and will only occupy an office on the fourth floor.”

Ndume was stripped of the Chief Whip position due to his frequent criticisms of Pres. Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress.

He was ousted based on a letter sent to the Senate by the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and Secretary, Sen. Ajibola Basiru.

The party cautioned him to stop attacking the President and the party, or else he should think about leaving the party.
