The Senate foresees job opportunities for graduates thanks to NYSC Trust Fund Bill

During an official visit to the Oyo State NYSC Orientation Camp at Iseyin, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Youth and Community Engagement, Yemi Adaramodu (APC, Ekiti South), revealed that the recently approved National Youths Service Corps Trust Fund Bill is expected to create employment opportunities for graduates.

Adaramodu mentioned that the bill, having successfully passed through initial readings and various legislative processes, is on its way to the President for approval.

According to the lawmaker, the primary aim of the bill is to ensure that corps members can establish themselves through the training provided by the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the bill includes provisions to support corps members interested in pursuing entrepreneurial ventures post their service year.

He stated, “Unemployment concerns and the future prospects for corps members post-service year will soon be resolved. This bill will pave the way for the realization of every Nigerian graduate’s aspirations.”

Adaramodu also mentioned that the Senate, in partnership with relevant governmental bodies, agencies, and stakeholders, will collaborate to review and potentially increase corps members’ allowances.
