The Resignation of Suspended Health Commissioner, Ngozi Okoronkwo in Abia

After being suspended, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, the Abia State Commissioner for Health, has officially submitted her resignation to Governor Alex Otti.

In a statement released by Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, it was mentioned that the Governor, upon accepting her resignation, expressed gratitude towards Dr. Okoronkwo for her dedicated service to the state. Her efforts in enhancing the health sector’s efficiency over the past year were also acknowledged.

The Governor extended his well wishes to her for all her future pursuits.

Regarding the changes within his administration, the press release mentioned, “The Governor reiterated his commitment to Abia State’s development and reminded the people that they granted him the authority to build his team, which includes appointing, suspending, or dismissing officials as necessary to fulfill his pledges to the public.”

Recently, the Abia State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor Monica Ironkwe, and the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Chima Oriaku also stepped down from Governor Alex Otti’s cabinet, though the reasons behind their decisions remain undisclosed.
