Datti Baba-Ahmed, who is Peter Obi’s running mate for the presidency, has shared the reasons for his decision to part ways with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Both Baba-Ahmed and Buhari were previously associated with the now-defunct Congress for Progressives Change, CPC.
He was elected in 2011 to represent Kaduna North Senatorial District under the former party.
However, the entrepreneur and politician stated that he separated from Buhari due to a shift in their ideologies.
He revealed that Buhari had deviated from his principles and beliefs, which led to his decision to part ways with the president.
Addressing the situation in Kano, Datti expressed, “Over time, President Buhari lost his principles and bearings, the situation made it difficult for allies like myself to abide by his political philosophy and ideas.”
Baba-Ahmed affirmed that the party was making significant progress in the North and assured that efforts were being made to secure votes for LP in 2023.
