The perspective of Ayra Starr on Handling Criticisms

Ayra Starr, the Nigerian musician, shared the reason why she remains unfazed by negative feedback.

The talented artist behind ‘Bloody Samaritan’ expressed her indifference towards criticism, pointing out that many of her critics are dealing with depression and poverty.

She emphasized that dwelling on others’ opinions about her is unproductive.

During a recent interview with Dose Society, Starr articulated her view, saying, “What seems insignificant? I believe opinions and how people perceive you hold little importance.

“Believe me, individuals are engrossed in their own lives. Everyone is occupied. People are struggling. Stop fixating on and worrying about others’ thoughts towards you. People are hungry, exhausted. The journey of life is arduous. Just be yourself.

“At times, you may be preoccupied with thoughts like, ‘What does this person think of me?’ Meanwhile, they are grappling with concerns like, ‘What does tomorrow hold? Will I make it back home?’

“There are myriad events unfolding globally, and if you expend your energy pondering over others’ opinions of you, you will simply be squandering your time. Embrace your individuality. Have faith in yourself. Do not be deterred by the consequences. Just take action. Do not fear failure. Experience setbacks as many times as necessary until you succeed, and you will revel in your accomplishment.”
