The people of Katsina turn to spirituality amidst hardships and insecurity

Amidst the ongoing economic struggles and insecurity in Katsina State, a large number of residents gathered on Tuesday for a special prayer session, seeking divine intervention.

The prayer session took place at the Katsina Arabic Teachers College playground and saw a significant turnout, with tight security in place to ensure safety.

Residents fervently prayed to Allah, calling for an end to the prevailing economic hardship, hunger, insecurity, and other challenges afflicting them.

During the session, the residents observed the ‘Al-Qunut prayer’, a form of supplication offered at a specific point during prayer, particularly recommended in times of calamity.

Similar prayer sessions were also held at the Filin Samji, Filin Yammawa, and Filin Canada football grounds within the Katsina metropolis.

Some participants explained that they turned to prayer as a final resort to combat issues such as hunger, insecurity, and other pressing challenges they face.

This decision was influenced by the ongoing clashes between security forces and Nigerian youths protesting against the high cost of living.

Organizers of the EndBadGovernance movement had previously designated Saturday for similar prayers across mosques and churches nationwide, seeking divine assistance in addressing the situation.
