The PDP’s Readiness for Ondo State Governorship Election – As Declared by Acting National Chair, Damagum

In a recent address to party stakeholders at the PDP headquarters in Abuja, Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Damagum, expressed confidence in the party’s ability to emerge victorious in the upcoming Ondo state governorship election in November.

Damagum’s remarks were made prior to the presentation of the Certificate of Return to the party’s candidate, Alfred Agboola Ajayi.

Encouraging Ajayi to mobilize other aspirants for the party’s success, Damagum criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for a tumultuous primary process. He highlighted the smooth selection of a single candidate within the opposition party as a testament to their readiness for the election.

Emphasizing the regional strategy adopted by the party, Damagum stated, “We agreed that all aspirants must hail from the south, and we have successfully executed this plan, indicating our preparedness to seize control of Ondo State.”

Addressing the candidate, Damagum urged Ajayi to actively engage with fellow aspirants to secure their support, recognizing the challenges ahead in clinching victory for the PDP in Ondo State.

He underscored the party’s collaborative approach and highlighted the upcoming stakeholders meeting in the South West as an opportunity to further strengthen party unity and strategize for success.

Concluding his address, Damagum remarked on the inclusive nature of the PDP, where individuals can rise from obscurity to prominence within the party’s framework.
