The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of Adama Aduku, the oldest surviving soldier, who passed away on Tuesday, December 31st at the remarkable age of 101.
He was born in 1918 to a peasant farmer in Abejukolo-Ife, Omaha Local Government Area of Kogi State. Aduku enlisted in the army in 1945. In an interview earlier this year, at the age of 101, he shared that he still possessed strength and vigor.
