The NFF has shortlisted three coaches for the Super Eagles’ coaching role

Reports from NewsNow indicate that former international players Emmanuel Amuneke, Domenec Torrent, and Antonio Conceicao are the final three candidates being considered for the Super Eagles coaching position.

According to a reliable source within the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the technical committee has submitted the names of these coaches to the executive committee.

“Among the foreign coaches, Torrent is the top choice followed by Conceicao,” the source revealed.

Regarding the local coaches, Amuneke is seen as the most qualified with significant experience, setting him apart from his peers.

The source also mentioned, “There is a preference for a foreign coach by the majority of the board members, while some are in favor of hiring a local coach.”

It is likely that one of these three candidates will be appointed to the position eventually, all factors considered.

Torrent previously served as an assistant to Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, while Conceicao led Cameroon’s national team, the Indomitable Lions, at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Amuneke, on the other hand, has previously coached the Nigeria U-17 team and the Tanzania national team.
