The Leader of Spain’s Catalonia, Quim Torra, has Tested Positive for Coronavirus

Quim Torra, the regional leader of Spain’s Catalonia, has tested positive for the coronavirus. He will be going into self-isolation in a government building.

 

The spokesperson for the Catalan Executive, Meritxell Bud, announced the news at a Monday press conference, revealing that Torra tested positive for coronavirus after experiencing cough and fever.

 

Mr. Bud also mentioned that the Catalan president will continue to work in isolation from the official presidential residence, Casa dels Canonges.

 

The news comes a day after the vice president of the Catalan government, Pere Aragons, also tested positive for coronavirus.
