The importance of unity and patriotism for Nigeria’s progress, according to NDLEA chairman

In a speech delivered at the 40th anniversary and reunion of the Nigeria Military School (NMS) 1984 set in Abuja, the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa, emphasized that unity and patriotism are essential for Nigeria to achieve greatness.

The event’s theme was ‘Leveraging on Nigeria’s diversity for inclusive Nation Building: Pathway to Leadership, stability and Prosperity’.

Marwa commended the 1984 set for their accomplishments, attributing their success to the quality training they received at NMS.

He highlighted NMS as a reflection of Nigeria, where values such as brotherhood, unity, and love for the country are instilled in the students.

Expressing his concerns about the challenges Nigeria faces, including ethnic and religious divides, Marwa encouraged Nigerians to uphold the unity of the nation.

“Celebrating forty years is a significant milestone. It’s inspiring to see that many members of this set have excelled in various fields, whether in the military or civilian life,” Marwa commented.

He added, “Occasions like this offer us a chance to reflect on our shared bonds and fate as a nation.”

“Recent years have presented challenges to our unity, leading many to question the harmony among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups,” he continued.
