The identities of the 4 Catholic seminarians kidnapped in Kaduna have been disclosed


The revelation of the identities of the 4 Catholic seminarians kidnapped in Kaduna, Nigeria has occurred.

 

Unknown gunmen kidnapped the seminarians on January 8, 2020, by breaking through the fence of the seminary.

 

A prominent Catholic charity supporting persecuted Christians has identified the abducted seminarians as Pius Kanwai, 19, Peter Umenukor, 23, Stephen Amos, 23, and 18-year-old Michael Nnadi.

 

They were taken from the Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna city, northern Nigeria, on the evening of Wednesday, January 8.

 

The attackers forcibly entered the student hostel by breaking through the fence and stole valuables before abducting the seminarians.

 

The four men hailed from different dioceses across northern Nigeria and had just commenced their priesthood studies.

 

The kidnappers’ motive and identity remain unknown.

 

Police stated that their swift response prevented the attackers from taking more students.
