The iconic actress known as Ovularia from ‘The New Masquerade’ has passed away at the age of 81

At 81 years old, Madam Elizabeth Evoeme, famously recognized as Ovularia from the beloved 80s sitcom ‘The New Masquerade’, has sadly departed.

She was born on December 1, 1942, and her family has confirmed her passing, mentioning that she was surrounded by loved ones at the time.

In a heartfelt statement from the Evoeme Emekalam family, they expressed deep gratitude to all the fans, friends, and colleagues for their support and urged for privacy as they mourn their loss.

The family of the legendary actress, Elizabeth Lizzy ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme, want to inform the public, her admirers, and all those who cherished her work in ‘The New Masquerade’, about her passing.

Elizabeth ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme was dearly loved by her family and her fans, and her presence will be greatly missed.

Ovularia’s daughter, Justina Ngozi Evoeme, who resides in London, expressed shock and sorrow at the loss of her mother. She shared, “I am still trying to come to terms with what has transpired.”

This news follows previous rumors from four and a half years ago claiming Ovularia’s passing, sparked by a Twitter post from Churchill Ebhodaghe on November 5, 2019. The actress later refuted these false reports.

In response to the 2019 rumors, Ovularia dismissed claims of severe illness and strongly condemned those responsible for spreading misinformation, advocating for consequences to be faced.

Chika Okpala, famed for portraying Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwaogbe in ‘The New Masquerade’, also quashed the rumors back then, confirming Ovularia’s well-being.
