The ground-breaking for N15bn interchange bridge in Kano set by Gov Yusuf

As part of his vision to improve traffic flow in the ancient city, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has initiated the construction of a N15 billion three-tier interchange bridge at Kofar Dan’agundi in Kano metropolis.

During a visit to the project site over the weekend accompanied by some cabinet members, the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming Kano into a megacity.

In December 2023, Governor Yusuf awarded the multi-billion-naira project to CCG Nigeria Limited with an 18-month completion timeline. Alongside this key project, another high-impact interchange bridge at Tal’udu roundabout in the city center was also awarded to alleviate traffic congestion.

“We have established alternate routes and urge motorists to adhere to safety regulations to facilitate the smooth progress of the project,” he emphasized.

Gov. Abba Kabir also laid the groundwork for a similar project at Tal’udu roundabout valued at N12 billion, awarded concurrently with the three-tier overpass construction encompassing underpass and surface level roads.

In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, it was affirmed that infrastructure development remains a pivotal focus of the current administration, prompting Governor Yusuf to allocate more resources to this sector.

Following the foundation-laying ceremony, the Project Manager of CGC Nigeria Limited, Mr. Gee Wang, and the Commissioner for Works and Housing, Marwan Ahmad, both assured that the project would be finalized within the stipulated timeframe.
