The Governor of Bauchi orders immediate release of funds to combat malnutrition

In an effort to enhance the nutritional status of children in Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed has directed the prompt release of counterpart funds.

He has reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the well-being of children, women, and the efficient delivery of maternal healthcare services.

During a courtesy visit by a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), led by Dr. Tushar Rane, Chief of the Bauchi Field Office, the Governor commended UNICEF’s initiatives in the state and pledged his support for their programs.

He instructed relevant agencies to expedite the release of state counterpart funds for UNICEF interventions and urged health agencies to ensure the successful implementation of healthcare programs, including enhancing immunization coverage and improving the education sector.

Dr. Tushar Rane, Chief of UNICEF Bauchi Field Office, highlighted the collaborative efforts between the European Union and UNICEF (EU-UNICEF) to provide support to the Bauchi State government. This support aims at implementing the Maternal, Child Health, Education, and Nutrition (MNCHN) Project in the state to enhance family health and promote children’s educational development.
