Akon, the American-born Senegalese singer, has completed an agreement for the establishment of Akon City in his homeland, Senegal.
The 46-year-old musician made the announcement via his social media accounts, accompanied by a photo from the moment the deal was finalized. In the caption, he wrote: ‘Just finalized the agreement for AKON CITY in Senegal. Looking forward to hosting you there in the future.’
This announcement comes following Akon’s revelation two months ago about his plans to build a city of his own, set to be completed within a 10-year timeframe. According to the singer, he intends to utilize his cryptocurrency, ‘AKoin’, to develop the city’s economy, and the entire city will have its own airport for convenient access.
