Addressing the issue of pipeline vandalism and oil theft, Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, emphasized the commitment of the Federal Government. In a statement released to NewsNow on Wednesday, Lokpobiri assured of creating a favorable business environment for National Oil Companies and International Oil Companies.

“President Bola Tinubu’s administration is dedicated to establishing a conducive business environment for National Oil Companies and International Oil Companies by combatting pipeline vandalization and oil theft,” stated Lokpobiri.

These remarks were made in conjunction with the announcement of a collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources and Great Minds Events regarding the upcoming Africa Oil and Gas Digital Transformation Conference 2024, scheduled for September 3-4, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria.

In his address, Lokpobiri also highlighted the broader objectives of the conference. “This conference aims not only to enhance production but also to ensure that the benefits are evenly distributed among all Nigerians. The recent Petroleum Industry Act has brought about a revolution in the energy sector, offering a favorable regulatory framework that promotes transparency and encourages investments.

“It is our collective responsibility to safeguard our environment, our resources, and the welfare of those residing in oil-rich regions,” he added.

The statement went on to mention that the conference will delve into the evolving challenges and opportunities arising from digital transformation within the oil and gas industry.

“The event will feature keynote presentations and panel discussions from industry experts, including executives from ExxonMobil Nigeria and KPMG. Participants will also have access to networking opportunities, one-on-one sessions with key opinion leaders, and an exhibition showcasing innovative solutions.

Great Minds Events has established strong partnerships over time and consistently organizes impactful industry conferences. The organization believes that collaborating with forward-thinking companies will drive the essential digital transformation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, shaping the future of Africa’s oil and gas industry,” the statement concluded.
