The Federal Government raises Nigerian passport fees

Effective from September 1, 2024, an upward revision of Nigerian Passport fees has been approved by the Federal Government.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by Kenneth Udo, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Immigration Service, the aim of the increment is to uphold the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

In the statement, it was mentioned, “In order to uphold the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, the Federal Government has approved the upward revision of Passport fees, effective from September 1, 2024.

“Following this revision, a 32-page Passport booklet with a 5-year validity period, previously priced at Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00), will now cost Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00); while a 64-page Passport booklet with 10-year validity, formerly priced at Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00), will now be One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00).

“The Nigeria Immigration Service expresses regret for any inconvenience caused by this adjustment to potential applicants, and assures Nigerians of its unwavering dedication to transparency and superior service delivery.”
