The family of Mohbad conducts a new autopsy to determine the cause of the singer’s death

Following the demise of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, his family has initiated a fresh autopsy process to uncover the reasons behind his passing.

An update from one of the family’s legal representatives, Monisola Odumosu, revealed that the autopsy was carried out over two days, specifically on Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20.

Odumosu stated in a released statement, “The Aloba family requested a second autopsy which was sanctioned by Magistrate T.A. Shotobi for July 19 and 20, 2024.”

She further explained, “This examination is a dual-phase process, wherein if the initial findings do not provide clarity on the cause of death, additional toxicology and histology tests will be conducted.”

“Present during the procedure were Mr. Joseph Aloba, the forensic pathologist selected by him, his legal counsel, and a pathologist designated by Wunmi Aloba,” she added.

In a previous development, back in June, Magistrate T.A. Shotobi of the Coroner Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, granted Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, the authority to engage a licensed pathologist for an independent autopsy.

Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 26 under controversial circumstances, and the exact reasons for his death remain shrouded in mystery.
