The EFCC Confirms No Hacking of Our X Account

In response to circulating claims, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has denied reports suggesting that its X account was hacked. Dele Oyewale, the commission’s spokesperson, provided this clarification exclusively to NewsNow on Thursday.

Social media speculation had alleged that hackers compromised the official X account of the anti-graft agency. However, Oyewale dismissed these allegations as false.

He emphasized that the EFCC is currently enhancing the X account to align with global standards, refuting any hacking incidents. Oyewale stated, “It is untrue that our X account was hacked. The Commission’s X account is undergoing an upgrade to meet global standards. Its upgrade is on the commission’s authorization. There is nothing like hacking,” during the NewsNow interview.

This clarification follows Guaranty Trust Bank’s recent rebuttal of reports claiming its website had been compromised, reaffirming the security of their platforms.
