The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Aviation and Technology assures that the sit-at-home order does not affect Ebonyi Airport

Ngozi Obichukwu, the Commissioner for Aviation and Technology in Ebonyi State, stated that there is no sit-at-home order in Ebonyi that could hinder Airport activities and flight movements.

Obichukwu made this assertion during a press briefing at Chuba Okadigbo’s Airport in Onueke, Ezza South LGA of Ebonyi State.

She emphasized that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru, has ensured adequate security measures at the airport to safeguard all travelers in the state.

The Commissioner also announced the commencement of operations by foreign airlines at the airport and highlighted that Ebonyi State is one of the safest states for travelers.

She further explained that Chuba Okadigbo’s Airport poses a significant challenge to other airports in the Southeast region due to its strategic location near Cameroon and the Trans-Saharan borders.

According to Obichukwu, “The airport’s popularity has increased, partly because people are disregarding the sit-at-home order within the state. This has attracted considerable attention from neighboring states such as Ogoja, Ikom, Okigwe, and Enugu, where individuals can conduct business without the constraints of the sit-at-home order.”

She urged travelers to ignore the rumors suggesting that the sit-at-home order would prevent them from boarding flights from Ebonyi State.

“The Ebonyi airport poses a notable challenge to numerous other airports in the South East due to its strategic location. People from various regions will be flocking here, primarily because there are no sit-at-home restrictions.”

“With its international classification and the Trans-Saharan route, the airport provides easy access for investors, students, and locals to engage in their regular activities,” she added.
