The Curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru Towns further Relaxed by Yobe Government

In an effort to enhance ease for the residents, the Yobe State Government has announced further relaxation of the curfew hours in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru towns.

Governor Mai Buni, in a security council meeting with security agency heads, presided over the decision to adjust the curfew timings.

Effective from Wednesday, the curfew will now run from 6 pm to 6 am, as disclosed in a press release by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General on Press and Media Affairs to the Governor.

The meeting highlighted concerns about the emergence of criminals and hoodlums who took advantage of the recent nationwide protests to cause vandalism and looting of public and private properties in the affected areas.

Parents and guardians were urged to keep a close eye on their children to prevent them from being manipulated into engaging in destructive and looting activities.

Governor Buni appreciated the security agencies for their skilled and composed management of the security situation.
