The Commitment of Security Forces to Safeguard Nigeria – CDS Musa

General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has reiterated the dedication of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to ensuring the security of the nation.

He emphasized their readiness to eliminate any threats to the country.

In his self-signed Eid-Kabir message, the Chief of Defence Staff urged all Nigerians to promote peace, unity, and love among each other, underscoring that “the sacrifices of our past and present heroes must not be forgotten.”

He remarked, “It is a great pleasure to join numerous well-wishers in celebrating with all Muslim faithful on this significant occasion of Eid-Kabir.”

“Undoubtedly, the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim sets a benchmark for loyalty and devotion to Almighty Allah across generations,” he added.

The CDS reassured that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) remained dedicated to upholding democratic principles, emphasizing their allegiance to established authority as Nigeria recently marked 25 consecutive years of democracy.

He expressed, “I firmly believe that Nigerians, particularly members of the Armed Forces, will continue to adhere to the profound teachings of sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.”

CDS Musa affirmed that the AFN remained resolute and devoted to restoring peace and security in Nigeria and its surroundings, highlighting that the primary constitutional duty of the AFN is to safeguard the nation from both external and internal threats.

He promised, “I take this chance to once again reinforce that the AFN will persist in employing both active and non-active strategies in our joint endeavors to ensure the well-being of every Nigerian.”
