The Comeback of Nollywood Icon, Liz Benson

Liz Benson, the seasoned actress, has made a triumphant return to Nollywood following a lengthy hiatus from the industry.

She has reprised her passion for acting by starring in the new film, “A Mother’s Son,” produced by Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed.

In a behind-the-scenes video shared on her Instagram page, Mercy Johnson announced the return of Liz Benson, sparking joy among the cast members as they welcomed back the veteran actress.

The star-studded movie boasts a talented ensemble including Mike Godson, Mercy Johnson, Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, and George Inaibeh, among others.

Upon receiving a warm reception from her colleagues, Liz Benson expressed her gratitude, stating, “All the prominent figures in Nollywood are gathered here.”

Delighted by the gathering, she added, “You guys are making waves; may God bless you. It’s a pleasure to meet all of you in person.

“This is my first time meeting all of you. However, I came to see my daughter (Mercy Johnson).”

Reports have revealed that Liz Benson originates from Etinan, Akwa Ibom in southern Nigeria.

Her acting journey began at the young age of five in 1971, which eventually led her to stardom when she portrayed Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the television soap opera ‘Fortunes’ on NTA in 1993.

Benson ascended to fame in the 1990s through her roles in classic movies, establishing herself as a household name during Nollywood’s formative years.
