The Collaboration of Osun State Government with Federal Agencies to Tackle Unemployment Issue

In addressing the prevalent issue of unemployment in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has emphasized the importance of partnering with Federal Government agencies and other collaborators.

Adeleke highlighted the presence of opportunities for job seekers in the state, along with the various initiatives implemented by his administration to combat unemployment.

During the Careers and Employment Opportunity Fair organized by the Ministry of Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations in conjunction with federal agencies based in Osun State, Adeleke, represented by the State’s Head of Service, Samuel Aina Ayanleye, expressed his commitment to creating a conducive environment for employment and engaging the unemployed youth.

While acknowledging the significant federal presence in the state, Adeleke underscored the ongoing efforts of his government to address the unemployment challenge through diverse strategies.

According to him, the Job Fair serves as a starting point to leverage opportunities within federal entities in the state, but the government is actively pursuing additional avenues to boost employment.

The government’s employment agenda includes promoting agro-industrial activities to empower both young and elderly residents, as well as advancing the localization agenda to enhance the capacity of local contractors and businesses in the construction sector.

A paramount focus is on facilitating partnerships between young entrepreneurs and financial institutions to be unveiled in the forthcoming series ‘Engagement With Osun Young Professionals’ by the Policy Integration Unit in the Governor’s office.

Emphasizing the importance of skill development for self-employment and career prospects, Adeleke encouraged youths and job seekers to enhance their capabilities beyond formal qualifications.
