The clash of cults in Lagos results in one person getting injured and two arrested


Two suspects, namely Hammed Olawale and Japhet Oderinde, were apprehended by the police officers from the Igando Division of the Lagos State Police Command following a clash between rival cult groups.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the command, revealed this information on his X handle on Sunday.

Hundeyin also mentioned that the suspects were found in possession of a locally made semiautomatic pistol, and the police are currently making efforts to track down other fleeing suspects.

Furthermore, one person identified as Abeeb Fagbohun was discovered with gunshot wounds and has been transported to the hospital for medical attention.

He documented, “A distress call reporting a rampage by two rival cult groups prompted the officers from Igando Division to arrest Hammed Olawale, 20 years old, and Japhet Oderinde, 23 years old.

“A locally fabricated semiautomatic pistol along with four live rounds of 9mm ammunition were confiscated from the two suspects.

“Abeeb Fagbohun, 26 years old, was found injured from the shooting and was swiftly taken to the hospital. The police are diligently working to capture the suspects who fled the scene.”
