The call from the Osun state governor to holidaymakers

Holidaymakers returning to Osun State for the Eid-el-Kabir festival are encouraged by Governor Ademola Adeleke to take the opportunity to explore the various ongoing projects initiated by his administration across the state.

Speaking in Osogbo, the state capital, Adeleke welcomed holidaymakers who had returned to the state to celebrate Eid via a complimentary train ride provided by the state government.

The train, originating from Lagos, arrived at Osogbo Railway Station at approximately 9:15pm with numerous passengers on board, greeted by officials from the state Ministry of Commerce and Industry in charge of the program.

Addressing inquiries from reporters following the reception of the holidaymakers, Adeleke reassured them of their safety and encouraged them to enjoy the Eid celebration.

He expressed, “Our gesture was to offer them a complimentary train ride from Lagos for the Sallah celebration, and I am delighted to welcome these natives back to the state. It’s why I’m here in person to greet them.

“Some of them were here not too long ago, taking advantage of our free train ride initiative to come back for the Sallah celebration.

“I urge them to unwind, feel secure, and relish the festivities. Osun is a tranquil state. They should make the most of their visit. Undoubtedly, as they arrive, they would have noticed the various infrastructure projects we are undertaking in the state. I encourage them to explore and view these projects during their time here.”

In his statements, Osun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bunmi Jenyo, lauded Adeleke for personally welcoming the holidaymakers and pledged that the government would uphold the welfare of its citizens, whether residing within or outside Osun.

One of the beneficiaries of the initiative, Tajudeen Olayeju from Ila Orangun, shared that he learned about the Osun state government’s complimentary train service through a friend, highlighting how the initiative saved him from the significant expenses of traveling by road.
