Thursday saw the violent hacking to death of a young man identified as Tega by cultists in Sapele, Delta State.
An altercation began when a cult leader demanded money from a rival member as “protection money”. The refusal to pay led to a severe beating, provoking retaliation from the rival’s group.
Reportedly, the victim was pursued from the New Road area to Irato Road, where he was eventually caught and attacked.
