An individual identified as a barman is reported to be the main orchestrator of the unsuccessful robbery attempt at a branch of First Bank in the Mpape area of Abuja last week. This person has been apprehended.
The alleged mastermind, known as Ernest, was apprehended by police detectives at a location that has not been disclosed yet and is currently undergoing interrogation at the FCT Police command headquarters in Abuja.
Earlier, the police had detained the bank’s customer service officer, Larry Ehizo, along with three other individuals – Timothy Joe, Princewill Obinna, and Elijah David – at the site of the attempted robbery.
One member of the gang died, and the remaining suspects were publicly displayed during a parade on Tuesday. During this event, Ehizo asserted that Ernest had coerced him into facilitating the robbery by threatening to harm him, his family, and his girlfriend.
