The arrest of a 32-year-old job scammer in Kano by NSCDC

An individual has been apprehended by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano for engaging in job scam activities. The scammer had a modus operandi of deceiving people by offering non-existent job opportunities in various government ministries in Kano State, thereby exploiting them of their hard-earned money.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, speaking on behalf of the State Commandant, disclosed in a statement released on Wednesday, that the suspect, identified as Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim, 32, was captured after a thorough investigation that spanned several weeks.

Abdullahi noted that the 32-year-old suspect, residing in Sagagi Quarters, Kano Municipal LGA, was found guilty of defrauding numerous individuals, primarily women, of over N1.2 million. The complaints against the suspect triggered the intensive search that led to his arrest.

The suspect, under false pretenses of being a high-ranking government official with the ability to secure lucrative employment opportunities in government establishments, managed to swindle his victims. However, his deceitful tactics eventually got unraveled, exposing his criminal activities.

The completion of the investigations signals that the suspect will face legal repercussions as he is set to be charged in court by the legal unit of the corps.
