The Army Chief praises troops for their sacrifices during Eid-el-Kabir celebration


Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has sent warm greetings and appreciation to the troops of the Nigerian Army and their families on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

A statement by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, lauded the soldiers for their dedication and bravery in addressing the emerging security challenges in the nation.

In his remarks, the COAS emphasized the significance of Eid-el-Kabir as a festival that highlights the importance of sacrifice in both human and divine realms.

General Lagbaja expressed thanks for the improved peace in areas that were previously troubled, recognizing the significant sacrifices, both in terms of personnel and resources, that the Nigerian Army has made in the fight against terrorism, insurgency, banditry, secessionist movements, and other criminal activities.

He praised the troops for their unwavering loyalty, exceptional courage, and patriotism, which have led them to triumph over severe dangers.

The Army Chief mentioned that many soldiers carry the marks of courage and valor in the form of battle scars, while others hold the memories and tales of their sacrifices for the nation dear.

General Lagbaja called for collective understanding and support for the government’s initiatives aimed at rebuilding the economy and fostering prosperity.

Furthermore, he encouraged all members of the Nigerian Army and their families to recommit themselves to selflessness and love for the country’s progress and prosperity. He reiterated his dedication to providing visionary and inclusive leadership to enhance training, improve living standards, and boost operational efficiency.
