Police unveils photo of suspected murderers of Afenifere leader’s daughter

Delay in Disbursing Cash to Poor Households Leads FG to Terminate Contractors

After a raid on the hideout of suspected cultists in Gusau, Zamfara State, the State Police Commissioner, Usman Nagogo, revealed that the names of prominent politicians in the state were discovered on a paper at a shrine. Order from Governor Masari: Land borders with 4 States and Niger Republic to be closed due to Coronavirus

To prevent the potential spread of coronavirus in the state, Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has issued an order for the closure of all land borders with neighboring states and Niger Republic.   The closure affects borders with Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, and Zamfara, as well as with the Republic of Niger to the north. Additionally, a ban on large gatherings in public and religious centers has been implemented.   Effective from 6:00 am on Saturday, March 28, the movement of people into the state is strictly prohibited. However, fuel tankers and vehicles carrying food items and essential commodities will be allowed entry into the state, subject to screening and testing at the point of entry. Nevertheless, people are free to move within the state.

The Abdulaziz Yari faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had their request for a review of the May 24, 2019 judgement, which ousted all elected members of the party in Zamfara State, rejected by the Supreme Court. Four members of a five-member panel, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, dismissed the application citing lack of merit. Justice Inyang Okoro, delivering the lead judgement, imposed a cost of N2million against the applicant and stated that the application was an abuse of the court's process. The closure of schools for 30 days in the North West region has been ordered by governors due to the Coronavirus threat

To prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in the region, governors of the 9 North West states have ordered the closure of all schools for a period of 30 days.   The Chairman of the North West Governors’ Forum, Katsina state governor Aminu Masari, made the announcement in a communique at the conclusion of their meeting in Kaduna on March 18th.
