Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has confirmed the first case of Coronavirus in the state.  In a state broadcast delivered this evening, Governor Wike said the patient is a 19-year-old female model from Edo State who resides in Port Harcourt. According to the governor, the patient's travel history shows she traveled to France, Italy, and Greece before returning to Port Harcourt on the 16th of March, 2020. He said it is quite unfortunate that the virus still found its way into the state despite several measures put in place to prevent it. According to data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease (Center) on Wednesday March 25, only 178 people have been tested for coronavirus in the country as of Tuesday March 24. This means that on average, only 10-20 persons are tested in the country daily since the confirmation of the first coronavirus case in Nigeria on February 27.
