Nigeria's Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that completing the Lagos-Ibadan rail line by April 2020 may no longer be feasible. EFCC’s Operation at Popular Night Club in Ibadan Leads to Arrest of 89 Suspected Yahoo Boys

89 suspected internet fraudsters have been apprehended by the Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, at the well-known Club 360 on the Akala Expressway, Oluyole Extension in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.   According to a statement from the antigraft agency, the club is well-known for accommodating "yahoo-yahoo boys."    “Officers of the commission conducted discreet surveillance on the nightclub before the late-night operation. Intelligence indicated that the club was a notorious hub for suspected internet fraudsters. The raid resulted in the seizure of numerous vehicles, laptops, advanced phones, and other items. The suspects are currently undergoing further interrogation,'' read the statement

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, the umbrella body for Fulani herders in the country, has demanded the arrest of Yoruba leaders who are in support of Amotekun, the South-West security outfit recently launched by Governors in the region to address the issue of insecurity. Actor Toyosi Arigbabuwo is dead

The demise of Nollywood actor Toyosi Arigbabuwo has been reported after a prolonged battle with poor health. Reports indicate that he passed away at his residence in Ile-Alli community, along Apete-Arola Road in Ibadan. Before his passing, Toyosi served as the Public Relations Officer of the Muslim Community in Apete-Awotan-Ayegun and environs in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, where he dedicated a portion of his life to promoting Islam. Following his death, his burial ceremony took place this afternoon at the Muslim cemetery located at Onigbaketun, along the Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road.

Two men arrested with 40 bags of hemp and 11 packs of ‘next level’

Two men have been apprehended by the Ogun State police command for supposedly transporting 40 bags of Indian hemp and 11 packs of skunk, also known as Next Level. The suspects, identified as Sulaiman and Ganiyu, were caught at Igboora Road with a Chevrolet bus marked KSF 390 XS. They were among 24 other suspects paraded for various crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, burglary, vandalism, and impersonation. The arrests were made on Thursday, January 9.
