NFF halts all NPL games in response to the death of Nasarawa United player Chieme Martins

The recent death of Nasarawa United footballer Chieme Martins has prompted a response from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). On Sunday, March 8, 2020, Martins collapsed after colliding with a Katsina United player and was subsequently rushed to Dalhatu- Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia, where he was pronounced dead (read here). The NFF has extended their condolences to Martins' family and announced that they have assessed the situation in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and the League Management Committee (LMC).
