Tragedy struck Nollywood as a movie continuity manager known as Juwon, fell victim to armed bandits' gunfire on Monday, January 27th.    The news of Juwon's demise was broken by actor Ibrahim Chatta, who mourned the loss on social media, stating: ''He was young and promising, full of HOPE. Juwon was working in my industry as a continuity manager and a driver trying to make ends meet. He was attacked and murdered today by the three Fulani and a Yoruba armed bandits while driving a known female Actor (Tooyosi Adesanya) @adesanyatoyosi_ileyemi from Ilorin. Adieu Juwon''.   The Kwara state police command is yet to comment on the incident.   Juwon was 39 years old. May his soul rest in peace, Amen. 

Police in Kwara State have arrested a 40-year-old Islamic Cleric, Wasiu Faruq, for brutally injuring a 10-year-old boy with a hot pressing iron. The incident occurred at Onilaru area of Ogidi in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. Sharing the disturbing photos on Facebook, Ahmad Ibrahim wrote: Abdulafeez Nurudeen, a 10-year-old boy, was molested by a 40-year-old Alfa named Wasiu Faruq. This happened in Ilorin at Onilaru area, Ogidi. It’s indeed very sad.

Governor Abdulrazak and the Saraki family have reached an agreement to settle out of court regarding the demolition of Ile Arugbo, which was constructed by the late Olusola Saraki. According to the lawyers representing both parties, they informed Justice Abiodun Adewara on Friday, January 24, about their decision to settle out of court. They have scheduled a meeting on January 27 to resolve all issues amicably. Justice Adewara commended both the Kwara State government and the Saraki family for choosing to resolve the matter without acrimony. Authorities in Ilorin, Kwara State’s capital, have apprehended six individuals who had been sought for their suspected participation in internet fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) carried out the arrests.   The apprehension of Atanda Femi Benjamin, Atoyebi Samson, Olapade Oladimeji Solomon, Amoo Saheed, Lawal Opeyemi Mubarak, and Sadiku Muniru Dolapo took place in close proximity to the state House of Assembly.   The suspects were found in possession of three luxury vehicles, laptops, and mobile phones. They are expected to face legal proceedings in the near future.    

The Kwara High Court in Ilorin has handed a two-week sentence to Abdulwahab Adebayo for using his phone during court proceedings. Justice Sikiru Oyinloye made the decision, stating that the convict continuously disrupted the court by answering phone calls despite being warned by the police officer present. Adebayo also displayed rude behavior in the courtroom, leading to his imprisonment without the option of a fine. The judge emphasized that the court premises should not be treated as a place for making or receiving calls at one's convenience, underscoring the seriousness of contempt of court.

Abdulwahab Adebayo has been sentenced to two weeks in a correctional facility by Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of a Kwara High Court in Ilorin. This was due to his continuous reception of phone calls during court proceedings, causing disruption. During the court hearing, Abdulwahab repeatedly answered his phone despite being warned not to do so by the police officer present. Refusing to comply, he was eventually removed from the court by another policeman after exhibiting rude behavior. Justice Oyinloye emphasized that the court premises should not be treated as a place for personal phone calls and that Abdulwahab's actions constituted contempt of court. Consequently, he was sentenced to two weeks' imprisonment without the option of a fine.
