Lassa fever death toll reaches 70 in Nigeria The death toll from Lassa fever in Nigeria has reached 70, according to a weekly report released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Tuesday, February 11. The report disclosed a total of 482 suspected cases with 104 new confirmed cases in the reported week, along with eight confirmed deaths. In the 5th week of the year, the number of new confirmed cases increased to 109, with four health workers affected in Ondo, Delta, and Kaduna states during the reporting week. The cases have been reported in 19 states, including Ondo, Edo, Ebonyi, Kano, Kogi, Kaduna, and others.
