An X user while sharing a video wrote: “Mr Peter Obi arrives at Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State to pay his last respects to the late Nollywood actor, Chief John Okafor (Mr Ibu).” NewsNow recalls that in October 2023, reports emerged that Mr Ibu was ill and required financial assistance. The burial of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, has commenced in his hometown of Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. Mr Ibu died in March 2024 of cardiac arrest in Lagos. The death of the comic actor followed complications from the amputation of one of his legs. The Enugu-born actor came to the limelight in 2004 with the movie “Mr Ibu,” featuring another popular actor, the late Ita Iheme. The deceased starred in more than 200 Nollywood films, including ‘Mr Ibu,’ ‘Mr. Ibu and His Son,’ ‘Coffin Producers,’ ‘Husband Suppliers,’ ‘International Players,’ ‘Mr. Ibu in London,’ ‘Police Recruit’ and many others.
