Angry Obaseki Reveals How He Will Handle Oshiomhole If He Keeps Disturbing Edo State

Godwin Obaseki, Edo state governor, has vowed to deal with Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), if he keeps “disrupting activities” of Edo APC. Oshiomhole, who was instrumental to the emergence of Obaseki, fell out with the governor shortly before he declared his reelection bid. Their misunderstanding reached its height last year when the Edo house of assembly was divided along their loyalists. Lawmakers loyal to the governor had taken oath of office secretly, leaving out their colleagues in the camp of Oshiomhole. Stakeholders in the APC did not succeed in their bid to reconcile the governor and his estrange benefactor. Speaking at a meeting of chairmen of the APC in the 18 local government areas in Edo, Obaseki said he is prepared to “show Os...

Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, threatens to expel Adams Oshiomole from APC

The ongoing conflict between the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, and the APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomole, has escalated with the governor issuing a warning to potentially expel Oshiomole from the party. This development comes after Obaseki's faction of the APC suspended Oshiomole from the party in December 2019. The dispute revolves around the control of the party's affairs in the state, leading to a tense stand-off between the two figures. Speaking at a meeting with the 18 APC local government chairmen in the state, Obaseki threatened to take action against Oshiomole if he persists in his "anti-party" activities. He specifically referenced the political rally organized by Oshiomole in Auchi, Etsako West local government area, where a significant number of individuals defected...

During the meeting, Umahi, a PDP Governor, expressed his support for his Edo State colleague, stating that Obaseki's good works make him irremovable by any man. In response to Umahi's endorsement, Chief Dan Orbih, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, described Umahi as a mole working for the APC.
