A devastating incident unfolded as a 12-year-old female suicide bomber attacked an Islamic seminary on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. Arrest of Daily Trust Reporter Condemned by NUJ Borno

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Borno Council has expressed its condemnation of the arrest of Daily Trust reporter Olatunji Omirin by armed soldiers.   Omirin was arrested on Thursday by operatives of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, and has since been released, as confirmed by the Executive Director/Editor-in-Chief of the paper, Malam Naziru Mikailu, last night. 12-year-old Boy Killed in Borno Mosque Attack by Two Female Suicide Bombers

Today, January 26th, two female suicide bombers carried out an attack on a mosque in Gwoza, Borno state. The attack resulted in the death of a 12-year-old boy and injuries to several others.   During the early morning prayers, the suicide bombers attempted to enter the mosque, but residents raised an alarm, thwarting their efforts.   The police have since cordoned off the area.

Christian Association of Nigeria urges Federal Government to designate Miyetti Allah as a terrorist group

On Thursday, January 24, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) called on the federal government to officially recognize the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) as a terrorist organization. CAN's request is based on the organization's alleged involvement in the killings of Christians in certain northern communities. According to CAN, Miyetti Allah shares a comparable agenda with the Boko Haram sect, and it highlighted a series of alleged attacks carried out by members of the Fulani group.
