Suswam Engages Stakeholders in Bid for PDP National Chairmanship

In his quest for the national chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Gabriel Suswam, a former Governor of Benue State, aims to complete the tenure left vacant by Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, hailing from Benue and the North Central region.

During a meeting with the Benue North East PDP expanded caucus in Katsina-Ala on Friday, Suswam unveiled his intentions, citing endorsements from party leaders in the state such as former Governor Samuel Ortom, Senators David Mark and Abba Moro, and the State Working Committee (SWC) of the PDP.

Highlighting the party’s constitution and historical precedence, Suswam emphasized the rightful claim of the North Central, and particularly Benue, to complete the unfinished term of Senator Iyorchia Ayu, who was removed from office through legal proceedings.

Expressing his unwavering commitment and loyalty to the party, Suswam pledged to foster unity and mobilize support for the PDP in preparation for the forthcoming 2023 elections.

He urged all members to put aside past election grievances and unite as one cohesive unit to propel the party towards progress, emphasizing the PDP’s pivotal role in leading Nigeria towards a brighter future.

Prior to this, key party figures including Chief Mrs. Margaret Icheen, the PDP’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate, Rt. Hon. Titus Uba, and Hon. Maurice Tsav, the North Central secretary of the PDP, voiced their support for Suswam.
