Suspended super cop, Abba Kyari, allegedly escapes murder in prison after inmates attacked him

There are reports that a former Nigerian super cop, Abba Kyari, narrowly escaped an attempted murder by inmates at the Kuje prison. The attack, which occurred on May 4th, was allegedly carried out by inmates who accused Kyari of not fulfilling his bribe-for-release deals during his active service.

The inmates, who had been arrested for drug-related offenses, tried to kill Kyari and claimed that he had prosecuted them despite accepting bribes from them. According to sources, Kyari has been described as a “dodgy criminal” by a state investigator and intelligence officer.

The inmates alleged that Kyari was involved in eliminating smaller drug dealers to clear the field for a suspected billionaire drug baron. They claimed that Kyari demanded bribes for killing their case and then proceeded to prosecute them. Additionally, it was reported that Kyari had to pay each of the aggrieved inmates a settlement fee and also procured DSTV subscriptions for cells to buy loyalty and peace, yet the inmates continued to threaten his life.

Due to the continued threats to Kyari’s life, an official recommendation has been made to transfer him from Kuje prison to a State Security Service (SSS) facility. There are also claims that Kyari has bought the loyalty of officers at the prison and has access to various privileges.

Abba Kyari, who is currently detained in Kuje prison, is facing trial amid allegations of attempted bribery and other charges by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the US government.
