An Okada rider known as Ibrahim was fatally stabbed and had his new motorcycle stolen in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, in a suspected robbery.
The lifeless body of the motorcycle operator was found with stab wounds on his neck around Okpoama beach on Wednesday, January 26.
A local resident, Henree from Brass community, reported that the victim was attacked and killed by a passenger who boarded his motorcycle on January 23. The deceased has been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs.
Below is the account of the incident:
“The young man, Mr. Ibrahim, was murdered on the 23rd of January 2022 at about ten minutes past 10 pm.
“A passenger boarded his motorcycle from Twon Brass to Okpoama. Unfortunately, there was no eyewitness to provide an account of what transpired, and the perpetrator fled with the new motorcycle (Okada).
His body was discovered the next day near Okpoama Beach, with stabs on the sides of his neck.
The corpse was left a few meters off the crime scene in shallow water, close to where his slippers and bloodstains were found.
He was laid to rest at the Brass cemetery. Rest in peace, Comrade Ibrahim.
