Suspected herdsmen kidnap nine travelers in Ondo; demand N100 million ransom from their families

The demand for N100 million ransom has been made by suspected herdsmen who kidnapped nine travelers in Ondo State. The victims were traveling from Lagos to Abuja when they were abducted along the Isua highway in the Akoko South East area. According to a family member of one of the victims, Bamidele Ojo, the travelers were in a Toyota Sienna space bus when they were ambushed and taken into the forest by the kidnappers. The abductors have contacted the families of the victims to demand the ransom. The Ondo state police command’s spokesperson, Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident and mentioned that one victim has been rescued, while efforts are being made to secure the release of the remaining eight victims by collaborating with police detectives, hunters, local vigilantes, and other agencies.
